When a late winter storm unearths an ancient shipwreck, a sleepy Cape Cod town is turned upside-down, first by the media, then by the resurrected pirates who come back to reclaim their ship.

Local historian Arthur Cobb wants the ship for himself, but so does his nemesis, gazillionaire businessman Barney Zimmerman. Caught between the two is young Chris Duggan, the boy who found the wreck, who just wants to help the pirates get home.

He realizes the only way to do that is to rebuild the ship and fulfill the pirate curse, but soon learns dislodging the pirates from the Rump may prove more difficult than was deciphering the curse that brought them there.

Spanning a magical summer in the life of an isolated beach community, filled with indelible characters, this rollicking and heartfelt tale is sure to leave you feeling good.

Swash! A Pirate Adventure eBook Brendan P Myers

In all honesty, this book is one of the most enjoyable surprises I've come across in a long time, and I am an avid reader. From the moment I started this delightful tale, I felt like I was transported directly into what was happening. I was drawn right in and didn't want to leave. I was anticipating an adventure and the author delivers on this, with a spirited and colorful account and all kinds of fun things happening. What I didn't expect was that it really ended up being so much more. Myers has an innate ability to paint a picture and create characters that are truly alive. He is a master at dialogue and putting his rich imagination into words. Reading this has the effortless quality of watching a movie, only it just happens to be in your head with the added benefit of experiencing what the characters are thinking and feeling. Myers somehow knows how to make the unbelievable, believable. Many authors try to do this and don't quite get it right. Well, this guy is a natural. You feel like you actually know these characters and that you are a member of this Cape Cod community watching things happen...that couldn't possibly be happening. You feel you are an actual part of the events, as they unfold.

This is the first book I've read by Myers. I read it in two days and it would have been quicker if I didn't have to put it down and go to work. I immediately bought two of his other books, which I can't wait to start. If you like a book that lets you escape from your everyday life, yet is believable and earnest...you're in for a real treat, here.

Swash! A Pirate Adventure eBook Brendan P Myers Reviews

Delightful swashbuckling adventure. Enjoyable read, well edited (for a change) Will read more from this author.
Swash! is a great yarn, a rip-roaring adventure story on a little (new) island off the Cape called The Rump, by the locals.
It centers around Chris, a likable teenager, who makes a pretty big find on the beach of his town that changes his summer, at the very least.
Myers has written some great characters and scenes, something for which I was more than willing to suspend my disbelief in the interest of a good tale.
The writing is pretty crisp and the story sails along and is all knotted up in the end fairly neatly. It was a great way to spend a few hours.
This book was a lot of fun to read. I quite liked the characters and I enjoyed the way the story made time for the young boy to evolve and grow as a person as well as have an adventure. I could almost smell the salty air myself.
I think the police officer could have been more involved he always just seemed to be on the edge and we hardly got to know the young lads mother. Nevertheless there were ample characters to follow.
